Dental Education Opportunities for Elementary Schools Our Raleigh County 3rd grade students and teachers are invited to our Beckley office for an educational field trip. While on these field trips, our office staff will demonstrate the various jobs within a dental office including those of a dental hygienist, dental assistants, lab technician, receptionists, and the office manager/business assistant. Also our dental hygienist will present a program on proper nutrition, proper brushing and flossing techniques, the use of fluoride and other anti-bacterial mouth rinses. We will instill a desire in the children to value their teeth and the means by which to take care of their teeth for a lifetime. Entertaining videos will help illustrate these ideas. The children are screened by an orthodontist and a letter is sent home to the parent/guardian. A very special souvenir is also made and taken home.
